A few years ago my interest in Japan was born, I found great interest in its culture being
so different from my own British and American culture. Soon I visited Japan for the first time, and twice since then. I found so many beautiful and wondrous places, the peace to be found in the shrines and the temples fascinated me. Mostly what I wish to share with people is the tremendous heartfelt emotional music of Miss Nakajima Miyuki to whom this evolving site will be fully dedicated. This is merely an introduction to my site and I thank you for coming and hope that you would return periodically to see how it has changed. I will leave you with the name of one of my favourite songs from Miyuki, it is called “ITO” and in literal translation means “thread”...... Much of Miyuki's music has been created by her into a number of interesting and sometimes heavenly stage acting perfomances. Often she appears as the main character in these acts known as 'Yakai' where she frequently plays many different parts in as many scenes sometimes supported by other fine actors. One very touching scene is where she sings the song 'Snowy-Snowy'.

Beautiful photography also magnifies her wondrous songs, natural charm and talent. Yakai 7 is a particular personal favourite which is available as a non or multi region DVD (can be played on any DVD player), whereas many other of Miss Nakajima's DVD's are only available in region 2 format (for Japanese use), however multi region DVD players are available on line through various outlets here in the U.S.A. I recently purchased a portable multi region player for a low $139, if you wish more info on this please e-mail me at miyukishijisha@gmail.com
Sadness and deep emotion are found in her songs and felt in you the listener as you travel with her on loves and lifes journeys, some quite lonely but always heartfelt with her rich and varied tones. 'Nissou no Fune' is I believe a story of lovers that are as 'two ships' perhaps traveling in avenues that merely pass by.

Japan lays claim to the first ever novel written, the book a long one, is called 'The Tale of Genji' by Murasaki Shikibu and tells of the develish female pursuits of a young Prince Genji.

The book and author has and had rivals in 'The Pillow Book' by Sei Shonogan written somewhere around the year 1000. Sei Shonogan lived much of her life in the imperial courts of ancient Japan and kept what me might think of as a diary of daily events, but more than events, they were deep feelings and natural emotions portayed sadly, happily and frequently amusingly giving the reader some surprising insight to the thoughts of a tantilizingly snobbish Japanese woman of that period.

I enjoy to read those accounts while listening to some of Miyuki's more traditional sounding music in the background.

The photo is of a very young Miyuki, for more text please go to the photo page by clicking the photo page link above...and at the foot of this page is an incredible ancient Japanese verse...

"Though the breeze blow not, the flower of

the heart of man will change its hue. Now

looking back on months and years of

intimacy, to feel that your friend, while

you still remember the moving words you

exchanged, is yet growing distant and

living in a world apart-all this is far

sadder than partings brought by death"
